In the latest chapter of this growing non-conference rivalry, the top ranked Maryland Terrapins lacrosse team hosted the eighth ranked Yale Bulldogs at Capital One Field in College Park, MD. After defeating the Terrapins the past two years during the regular season at home, the Bulldogs looked to continue their recent success on the road but were forced to do so without star attack man Ben Reeves, who missed the game with a hamstring injury. On the other side, Maryland looked to remain undefeated during the 2017 college lacrosse season and were led by its potent offense featuring attack duo Colin Heacock and Matt Rambo. From the start, the game was all Terrapins as Maryland built an 8-4 lead heading into the half. Maryland continued to pour it on, stretching the lead to 11-5 at one point in the third. However, Yalewould come roaring back with a 6-1 run that was cut short by a second lightning delay late in the fourth quarter. Upon returning to the field, the Bulldogs could not find the equalizer and the Terps held on for the 12-11 victory. Cole Heacock led the way for the Maryland with five points while Yale received a game high six points from senior Eric Scott. The Terps next hit the road for a showdown with the fourth ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish while Yale returns home to host Bryant University.
