In a meeting of two of the top high school lacrosse programs on Long Island, the Massapequa high school lacrosse team traveled to Suffolk County for a match up with the Smithtown East Bulls. With several highly touted prospects headlining each team, there was more than just county bragging rights on the line for each team as both look to cement themselves as contenders in 2017. In the first quarter, the hometown Bulls jumped out to an early lead, led by senior midfielder and Johns Hopkins commit Conor DeSimone. Massapequa would come roaring back in the second and third however, pushing the game to a tie all tie in the fourth. It is there where Smithtown would breakthrough with the game winner, eventually defeating the Chiefs by a score of 10-9.
