One year after falling short of its eighth San Diego Section lacrosse crown, the La Costa Canyon boys lacrosse team found itself back in the championship game, squaring off against Coronado. Coronado, who scored an upset of top-seeded Torrey Pines in the semifinals, was looking to avenge a 2016 post season loss to the the Mavericks. Despite jumping out to an early lead, Coronado came roaring back late, eventually taking a 9-8 lead late in the fourth. However, LCC would score the next two goals and hang on for the 10-9 win.
