The game pitted the U.S. National Indoor Team against the Iroquois Nationals in a tightly contested battle. The U.S. team was led by Casey Powell (#22), and featured a roster including names like Paul Rabil (#51) Joe Walters, Kevin Buchanan, and Bill McGlone. The Iroquois squad featured recent college stars like Cody Jamieson (#88), and Jeremy, Miles, and Lyle Thompson.
The Nationals jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but the U.S. battled back to knot the game at six, and eventually pull ahead 8-7 in the third, a lead they would never relinquish.
The boys in red, white, and blue celebrated their 13-11 victory by hoisting the Bowhunter Cup at game's end. Since the game was an early exhibition test for both teams, the make up and rosters of each team is likely to change.
The teams will meet again, along with defending champions Canada, during the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, on May 21-28, 2011.
