The showdown for the Class A Suffolk County lacrosse title featured the defending state champion Ward Melville Patriots taking on the Smithtown West Bulls at Sachem North High School on Long Island. Looking to avenge a loss to the Bulls from earlier in the season, the Patriots rallied late in the fourth quarter to force overtime where Jack Gillen tallied the game-winner capturing a fourth straight county title for the Patriots with a 10-9 win.
