For the twelfth time, the Fairfield Ludlowe boys lacrosse team hosted its annual Sticks for Soldiers event, a post Thanksgiving Tradition that helps raise money and awareness for the struggles that military personnel face when returning home from a active duty. Over the last decade, the program has raised over $675,000 and is one of the most anticipated fall lacrosse event held in the northeast each fall. This year, one of the honorees was US Army SCP Calvin Todd. Todd was a former lacrosse player who enlisted after college, becoming an Army Medic. In 2012, Todd lost his lower left leg when his unit was ambushed in Afghanistan. Todd returned home where he began the arduous rehab process, a process that was aided by his love of lacrosse.
