The Express NORTH lacrosse club, one of the premiere AA travel teams in the nation, hosted their 2nd annual Harlem Lacrosse Play Day at the Harvey School in Katonah, NY this past Sunday October 22nd. Approximately 20 students in grades 6-9 came out to practice and scrimmage among the NORTH players in a fun-filled environment ending with a BBQ and equipment drive for all the kids, players and parents.
Arrangements by NORTH players Walker West (2018 goalie) and John Schreiber (2019 midfield), made the 2nd Harlem Play Day a success for all involved. With the generosity of the NORTH parents and players, the Harlem Lacrosse program will be receiving 60+ new pairs of cleats, balls, nets and much needed clothing for their growing program.
Harlem Lacrosse provides school-based, full-day, year-round support for students by placing a full-time staff member at school sites for each programs. Harlem Lacrosse Program Directors maintain a constant presence in the lives of the students they serve. They are tutors, mentors, and coaches who provide individualized attention that meets students where they are and helps them reach their full potential.
