Native son Steve Brooks and former Orangeman also started for the machine and notched a pair of goals as did Mike Leveille. Notwithstanding the output of these two new draft pciks, the Machine’s defense faltered in the fourth quarter and let the game slip out fo reach to the Washington Bayhawks who prevailed 18-14. Key here was Chicago’s penchant for penalties, racking up 10 of them and giving Washington the ability to convert on 4 of those 10 extra-man opportunities.
