Senior Chet McLaughlin continued his hot streak scoring five goals for the third consecutive game leading the Susquehanna University Men's Lacrosse team to a 13-6 victory over Randolph College in a non-conference matchup Thursday night at WildCat Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia. Susquehanna (6-1) traded goals early with Randolph (2-4) before the River Hawks scored the final three goals of the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead. Andrew Porzio, Erik Lanyi and Preston Ouellette each scored during a five-minute span late in the quarter. In the second quarter, Jake Smolokoff opened the scoring to give the River Hawks a three-goal edge but Randolph answered a minute later to make it a 5-3 Susquehanna lead. McLaughlin went on a personal 3-0 run with three straight goals – two in the second quarter and one to start the third quarter as the River Hawks took an 8-3 lead. Each team score another goal in the third with Porzio netting his second for Susquehanna and Randolph scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to trim the lead down to 9-6 with just less than 13 minutes remaining in the contest. McLaughlin again took charge scoring the next two goals to reestablish the five-goal cushion and Alec Tzaneates and Porzio scored late in the quarter for the final margin of victory. McLaughlin ended up with five goals and an assist for six points while Ouellette added five points with two goals and three assists and Porzio had four points with three goals and an assist. Joshua Wesolowski and Alex Weightman led the team with six ground balls each and Weightman also caused a team-leading four turnovers. Dylan Abplanalp made six saves to record his sixth win of the season.
